Yesterday, Bank of America's eCommerce division held its annual charity golf tournament. For several years now, the Men's Shelter has been one of the beneficiaries of this event. The turn out at Tega Cay was fantastic. Our own Billy Godwin represented the Men's Shelter and played on Team Star Trek; they finished a respectable 2 under and tied for 20th place. We appreciate Billy taking one for the team and spending his day on the links.
At the awards ceremony, Men's Shelter of Charlotte was presented with a check for $35,000! What a difference this gift will make for the almost 500 men per night we are sheltering so far this summer.
We greatly appreciate the employees, sponsors, vendors, and others involved in this tournament each year, with a special thanks to BoA's tournament coordinator Kathy Sutton. On hand to join me in accepting this gift was Trish Hobson, our Associate Executive Director for Community Development, and Cathy Pullen, BoA employee and Men's Shelter Board Member and incoming Board Chair.
