On Thursday, October 1st, Uptown Shelter and Emergency Winter Shelter will hold a press conference at 11:00am to announce the completion of our merger and to unveil our new name and logo. The event will be held at our Statesville Avenue Campus, 3410 Statesville Ave., Charlotte. Joining us for the event will be County Commissioner Jennifer Roberts; Hal Weatherman, Chief of Staff for Representative Sue Myrick; Laura Meyer, Executive Vice President of the Foundation for the Carolinas; Chris Jackson, Vice President of Community Building for the United Way of Central Carolinas; and our board, staff, and many, many supporters. The event is open to the public.
We will also be celebrating the opening of our Statesville Ave Campus for the winter season, so the building will be open for tours. Our winter season runs October 1st through the end of April.
